In 2025, SDRT, teamed with RockyTech and Orbital Mining Corp. (OMC), won two NASA SBIR Phase I grants. Both grants aim to improve dust mitigation solutions for sustainable lunar exploration.
• SDRT will test novel polymer materials, developed by RockyTech, for reducing dust adhesion as a passive dust mitigation method in relevant lunar surface environment.
•SDRT will integrate our novel Electron Beam Dust Mitigation (EBDM) device on OMC’s mobile system to demonstrate mobile cleaning for large vertical solar arrays, maximizing power generation on the lunar surface.
